Acupuncture for Facial Spasm 5 5799 收藏

A man who has suffered from facial spasm for more than two years came for help. The following video is before and after treatment. Very good results.

A patient, 61 years old, male, had suffered from involuntary twitch of the right facial muscle for more than 2 years. In the initial stage, the involuntary twitch attacked the corner of his right eye occasionally. With the symptom progressing, the corner of his right mouth was gradually involved, especially when he was angry or in bad rest. The most serious scenario was the continuous twitch of the right facial muscle with narrowed palpebral fissure and mouth deviated rightwards. The tongue was red with white coating, and the pulse string-like and thin. He had taken Western medicine and Chinese medicine for a long time with no significant effect. He didn’t have any other disease history. The acupoints around the eyes were selected: BL 2 (Cuanzhu) and EX-HN 5 (Taiyang) through GB 1 (Tongziliao), ST 2 (Sibai), GB 14 (Yangbai), bilateral Qianzheng (extra point), Jiachengjiang, ST 4 (Dicang), TE 5 (Waiguan), LI 4 (Hegu), LR 3 (Taichong), and KI 3 (Taixi). Local acupoints were applied to unblock the local meridians to promote qi and blood flow, which was combined with applying distal acupoints to calm the liver, dissipate wind, enrich yin, and arrest convulsion.
