In addition, it corresponds diseases with treatments through the Later Heaven Eight Trigrams. For example, we usually take the Dui Palace (the right position) for conditions of respiratory system. Needles are inserted radially into the right umbilical wall in the outward direction and retained for several minutes. As for hepatopathy, Zhen Palace (on the left of), which is so simple.

Locations of umbilical needling points of hologram of Luo Shu
According to locations in Luov Shu, “9 is the head and 1 the foot; 3 is on the left and 7 the right; 2 and 4 are the shoulder (lateral to 9); 6 and 8 are the feet (lateral to 1; in clinical practice they are thighs); five is the center” . See hologram locating from the figure of umbilicus needling in the Appendix Two. Clinically, tender points on umbilical wall can be found according to the location of disease. The umbilical core can be taken as the center and filiform needles are inserted from the umbilical wall.

Locations of midnight-noon ebb-flow points
The human umbilical region is likened as a clock. Umbilical core is the center, which extends to twelve directions to form the positions of midnight-noon ebb-flow. It corresponds the down, lower right, right, upper right, up, upper left, left and lower left positions to Zi, Chou, Yin, Mao, Chen, Si, Wu, Wei, Shen, You, Xu and Hai of midnight-noon ebb-flow, which is in accord with 24 hours and twelve regular meridians (each one stands for 2 hours, for example, Zi is from 11 pm to 1 am, which is connected with the Gall Bladder meridian). If a disease changes at certain time or in a specific meridian, treatment can be performed the corresponding time. For example, if a patient with chronic respiratory conditions coughs at Yin period (3 a.m. to 5 a.m.), treatment can be performed at this period of time. If some pathological changes occur in the gallbladder meridian, Zi period (11 p.m. to 1 a.m.) is the optimal time for treatment.
